C-SCDC is a community action agency working to improve the lives of low-income individuals and families, and the communities in which they live. Our goal is to help clients achieve self-sufficient living. C-SCDC was organized in 1965 and is a private, non-profit corporation. Our board of directors is made up of low income, public and private representatives. We inject over $8,000,000 a year into the local economy with over 1,600 volunteers used in various programs. Approximately $12 million in-kind donations are made each year and we hold board meetings every 4th Thursday of the month except for the months of August and November.

Since 1995, non-profit Credit Counseling of Arkansas (CCOA), Inc. has helped thousands of families with personal finances issues by making a positive difference through helping people master their personal finances through free budget, credit & housing counseling, free seminars, credit report reviews and a Debt Management Program that can reduce interest rates, stop late fees, and stop collection calls. Less debt, more life! Many who struggle with debt didn’t get there because of carefree spending. They have debt stemming from a crisis, such as: job loss, reduced work hours, divorce or medical bills. CCOA can help! Caring, confidential credit counseling is available in-office (Fayetteville, Bentonville, Fort Smith), by telephone, and online in English, Spanish and Marshallese. CCOA offers free financial education seminars to the community (fee charged for for-profit businesses) as well as free budget and credit counseling. CCOA also offer bankruptcy counseling and education, housing counseling, mortgage delinquency counseling, reverse mortgage counseling, student loan counseling and credit report reviews. All credit counseling organizations are not the same. Some are trustworthy, while others are not. CCOA has a proven, 20-year track record of serving others, is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) member with an A+ rating (the highest), a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and accredited by The Council on Accreditation (COA). CCOA is also a United Way funded agency. The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal and The Arkansas Business Journal both chose CCOA as a finalist for Non-Profit Organization of the Year.
