The Frayser CDC believes that every person should have the chance to live the American Dream of homeownership. This is why we strive to make affordable homeownership opportunities available and effectively communicated to the public. Affordable Homes for Sale and for Rent: The Frayser CDC provides access to affordable homes for low-to-moderate home buyers. Our agency purchases blighted houses and fully renovates and resells homes. Our objective is to stabilize household budgets through affordable housing, while building wealth for surrounding homeowners through blight removal and improved home values. As of 2021 the FCDC has 116 rental homes which maintain a 97% occupancy, even during the economic crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic The FCDC built 7 entirely new homes in 2020 and plans to add at least 10 brand new homes to that number in 2021 We sold 9 homes to first time homebuyers in 2020 alone — Frayser saw home values rise an astonishing 18.6%, a tribute to the vast amount of work and investment coming to Frayser from many avenues In 2021 we are working to acquire a multi-family apartment building so that we can provide additional safe, beautiful and affordable housing to the Frayser community

Since 1982, MANNA has been involved in a wide range of housing projects, producing nearly 1200 units, mostly for-sale homes. SOUTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES, INC.

Our staff consists of dedicated professionals who want to help the average person buy into the American dream of homeownership. Robert Garcia-Executive Director Robert has been the Executive Director for SWNHS since March of 2000. Robert brings over 25 years of experience in Real Estate Development and General Construction. He was licensed as a Realtor in 1979 and as a General Contractor in 1983. He was born and raised in Taos, New Mexico, which he still calls home. After high school Robert served in the US Army from 1967 to 1970. Robert was honorably discharged in 1970 and enrolled at the University of New Mexico. He joined the New Mexico National Guard 111th Artillery Battalion until the 1980’s. The desire to serve our community residents is shown by his dedication to his job and to improve the quality of life for the families served by SWNHS. Sandy Valles - Administrator Sandy has been in the mortgage industry since 1996. She has analyzed mortgage applications including credit reports, employment and banking histories, purchase contracts, appraisals, and title reports to determine the borrowers willingness and ability to repay mortgage loans. Types of mortgages she has worked with consist of purchase, refinance, second mortgages, non conforming and confirming for FHA, VA, Conventional, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. In addittion certified to do Homebuyer Counseling and Reverse Mortgage Counseling Cristina Monsivais - Loan Officer Cristina came to SWNHS in September 2004. Her duties are to analyze mortgage applications, credit reports, employment and banking histories for mortgage loans, determine the borrower’s ability and willingness to repay a mortgage loan, performs marketing and outreach in the community by providing Homebuyer’s Education Classes in Spanish, which she became certified to teach in April 2005. Cristina also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a minor in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico. Alma Rosa Yañez-Otero--Housing Specialist Alma started working at SWNHS in September 2005. She specializes in assisting people to achieve their dream of becoming homeowners by determining their eligibility, affordability, credit repair and financial literacy. Alma provides Homebuyer’s Education Classes in English and Spanish. She is a certified translator and paralegal who wants to return to school and obtain her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice to become a Probation and Parole Officer.

Executive Director Diana Dorn Jones Diana Dorn-Jones was born and raised in Albuquerque New Mexico. She is a community organizer and economic development professional with over 35 years’ experience in community development and corporate banking. Her key interests include affordable housing and advocacy on behalf of low-wealth neighborhoods. She has served as Chief Operating Officer for the City of Albuquerque. Diana is the Executive Director for United South Broadway Corporation, one of Albuquerque’s oldest non-profit Community Development Corporations (CDCs), which currently provides statewide foreclosure counseling and civil legal services to homeowners facing loss of their homes in the New Mexico courts. Diana is a founding member of the Project Change Fair Lending Center and the Anti-Racism Institute of the Southwest. She has organized community groups to implement the Community Reinvestment Act, bringing millions of dollars into the state for low-income housing and small business development. She was instrumental in passage of the New Mexico Home Loan Protection Act. She is an alumna of the Aspen Institute Roundtable on Community Change and founder of a new K-5 Charter School in South Broadway, one of Albuquerque’s federally- designated Pocket of Poverty neighborhoods where she was born, raised and continues to reside. Diana has won numerous awards for her work, and while she appreciates and values all that she has been recognized for, she is particularly proud of the city-wide League of Neighborhoods “Neighborhood Leadership Award,” the Albuquerque Human Rights “Bridge Award,” and the YWCA “Woman of Vision Award,” because these were in recognition of her role in promoting cross-cultural collaboration in the Albuquerque community, working in a spirit of inter-group cooperation and across racial, ethnic and cultural lines. Program Manager Debbie Norman Debbie manages USBC’s Housing Counseling and Community Outreach programs, and the education component of the Anti-Racism Training Institute of the Southwest. HUD Certified Counseling Team Elaine Candelaria, Senior Housing Counselor – Foreclosure Prevention, USBC Elaine Candelaria, Senior Housing Counselor – Foreclosure Prevention Elaine provides HUD-certified foreclosure prevention counseling for homeowners.
