MANNA, INC.

MANNA is a nonprofit developer of quality, affordable housing in the District of Columbia. Since 1982, MANNA has been involved in a wide range of housing projects, producing nearly 1200 units, mostly for-sale homes. Our organization has developed townhouses, condominiums, cooperatives, rentals, and the occasional single-family home. We currently develop more condominium projects than any other nonprofit developer in the District. Our mission is not one of simply building and selling houses. We focus on revitalizing entire neighborhoods through homeownership. MANNA’s strategy also includes educating first-time home-buyers for the process of home purchase and for continued success as homeowners. We also train homeowners and their neighbors throughout the city to become community leaders and advocates. “The mission of MANNA, Inc. is to help low and moderate income persons acquire quality housing, build assets for families through homeownership, revitalize distressed neighborhoods, and preserve racial and ethnic diversity.”

LATINO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

WORKING FAMILIES DESERVE THE NECESSARY SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD WEALTH AND ADVANCE THEIR FAMILY’S FINANCIAL POSITION. MOST, HOWEVER, DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES NEEDED TO BUILD A FINANCIALLY SECURE HOUSEHOLD. The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) equips Latinos and other underserved communities with the skills and financial tools to create a better future for their families and communities. Participants in our programs learn how to build their long-term financial security by buying and staying in their homes, taking control of decisions affecting their apartment buildings, and starting or expanding their small businesses. The entire DC-MD-VA region and Puerto Rico is stronger when all families have the power to achieve financial independence and join with their neighbors to improve their communities.
