The City of Frederick Department of Housing and Human Services, formerly known as the Frederick Community Action Agency, the federally designated Community Action Agency for Frederick County, Maryland, administers programs and services to assist disadvantaged and low-income people, thereby, ameliorating the causes and effects of poverty. Through a wide array of programs and services we provide food, housing, medical care, and other forms of assistance to families and individuals that are low-income or homeless. Since its inception in 1968, the Frederick Community Action Agency is sponsored by the City of Frederick and Friends for Neighborhood Progress, Inc. with support from the Frederick County Government. The Frederick Community Action Agency is administered by a fifteen-member BoCommunity Action Agency Buildingard of Directors appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Frederick
